This is all you need to know.

Hopefully we don't get this tomorrow or the next day.

I for one am not happy to see days like this. The volatlty could easily have gone the other way. Is there any scholarship regarding the effect of up outlier days being a harbinger for lower prices? Scary!

increased volatility could easily be a marker for a decline.

As I posted on Tim Knight's blog (while freely admitting that I've had one glass too many of wine--Las Rocas--please treat yourself to a bottle of 100% of Spanish Grenache (or garnacha) rose if you enjoy wine): I call this the ether rally. Ether retail sales are badn' or they're goodn'. They were bad, but not as bad as expected. Incongruences? Bond prices down, yields up, trade deficit up. There is a dissonance afoot that will be settled.

However....I have to wonder....if the USD is down; all other stock markets are up hugely more than our indices, then.....aren't our assets cheap, cheap, cheap?

If you were looking for "value", AND if the USD were making a bottom (which I have no idea if it is or not), but indulge in the mental exercise that it might be, then....wouldn't that attract foreign capital? Wouldn't that be a natural "allocation" so long as the USD were making a bottom or damn close? (Roger, I know that I used a curse word, but at least I didn't say that I liked dick like that buxom woman in you ad said). Thank goodness she is gone. I feel more adequate now. Did your wife ever see that ad?

I know I complained out loud about the ad but not sure if it registered with Joellyn or not, lol

Well, I hate to be the crasher of parties, but I'd like to see some more volatility. Volatility presents opportunity. If I didn't want volatility, I'd lock it up in at HSBC or at my local bank in a CD.

Funny that people are scared when the market goes up now :P
