Roger,
I admittedly pay very little attention to the movements of one fiat currency compared to another. Maybe you could add some context to the falling USD.
I wonder what the impact of Iran shifting oil sales from USD to Euros is having on that relationship. I also think the repatriation of foreign funds back into the UK (similar to the US in 2005/6) is behind the recent relative strength of the BP.
