New Blog
When I find a new (to me) blog that I think has something to say I like to pass it on. Part of the blogosphere is growth and the addition of new content providers. I feel no threat or sense of competition, not sure if other bloggers do. Most blogs are giving away the milk. Readers will vote with their clicks.
The new blog is Investing From The Right. It is written by "T" who has left some great comments on this site which is why I think there is a chance that his blog will have something to say. Clearly he has been around the block and the perspective of experience should be very valuable and enhance the content but you can decide for yourself.
I would also say don't let the political bias sway you either way. I know someone who is so liberal that he modifies his behavior to avoid being exposed to thinking from the other side. This makes no sense to me. Personally I want to hear both extremes (although I don't really find T to be that extreme, remember I live on a mountain in rural Arizona) of any issue to help me make up my mind.
Check him out and let him know what you think.

Roger: Do you agree or disagree with "T" regarding the immmediate sale of gold and silver?
I have no position in silver nor do I plan direct exposure. gold's primary role for me is for diversification as such I will always maintain some exposure, the amount may vary but for now I am not reducing or other wise selling my exposure. I would expect that if gold struggles equities would generally be ok.
Anon: If he is tying the price of gold & silver to Iran...then, he has the fundamentals about the metals all wrong.
"There is NO compelling reason to own gold."
THIS ONLY SCRATCHES THE SURFACE:

Getting your politics mixed up with investing is a good way to make a small fortune. If you start with a large fortune.
Seriously, if I invested based on my opinion of our leaders in DC, I'd be long guns, canned food, and some gold and whiskey for bartering.
funny, i just bought 100 can openers
Good link. Added it to subscriptions. I've never heard anyone talk about Switzerland iShares before. Agree with her on the metals and maybe the world is too fatigued with fighting to care if Iran gets the bomb now.
Politics is just another version of fantasy football, except with politicians. Speaking of... Dolphins-Steelers. I need to go home.
roger, do you and your brother have widely diverging views on gold....i think at his web site he advocated backing up the truck and buying hands on gold....just on the price move going a little lower. interesting family.
anon: I am a big advocate of owning physical Silver and gold mining stocks. However, it represents a tiny itsy bitsy % of my investments.

I think Larry places a greater probability on a dire outcome than I do.
Not unless you think that the end of freedom and free markets is "dire"....and, that's after the credit, housing and commodities bubbles all burst and we get attacked again, in which the Fed inflates our fiat money another 10%...
Roger and Larry, don't be surprised if you get a casting call from another Larry (Kudlow).
hearty chuckle
