iShares to Sponsor Cycling Team

According to ESPN.com Floyd Landis' team, Phonak, is shutting down at the end of the year. iShares was supposed to take over as named sponsor for the team. The article does not give specifics on how iShares backed out.

Why they backed out seems obvious but there is not much detail in the article. Maybe iShares can give the Kansas City Royals a cash infusion?

love that idea. Parking sections can be named for the ETF's. How cool would it be to remember that you are parked in "Small Cap Diversified Growth, Denominated in Euros"

As you may know I am the assistant fire chief for the Walker Fire Department.

A few months ago we sold the naming rights to our station for an undisclosed sum.

For the length of the contract it will be known as Walker Fire at PowerShares Lux Nanotechnology Station.

The Landis thing is going to have big repurcussions for cycling. I'm really bummed about it being a cyclist myself and a fan of the sport.
