We picked up our new dog this morning that we are adopting from the dog pound. His name is Roscoe, he is the red one on the left. The other dog is Tater Tot, whom we have had since April. It is possible that Roscoe and Tater Tot are litter mates. After we picked him this morning, we took him on a walk on one of our regular trails to wear him out a little before bringing him home.
He met Tater last week but had not met our third, and oldest dog, Kramer. We all met for some sniffing at our fire house before coming home. Tater and Roscoe love each other already.
Ben Stein tells people to get a dog. While I am no Ben Stein, I would also make the same suggestion.

Sweetie, our shepherd mix, came to us from the local animal shelter. She had been rescued from abuse and then kept off death row in the shelter's kennel for three years, so she had a few issues. She is wonderfully smart and sweet (though admittedly still aggressive to everyone, man and dog, but us). The donation we gave to the shelter for saving our girl until we found her is far and away our best investment for 2005.
